Jurgen Klopp‘s side produced a result and performance that was almost identical to Saturday’s Premier League match against Huddersfield Town at Anfield – 0-0 at half-time, an early goal in the second half, a penalty saved by the opposition goalkeeper, a 3-0 win and a Daniel Sturridge goal.

It could have been more, had chances been taken, with Can and Salah both guilty of missing headers from inside the six-yard box in each half.

Liverpool keep top spot in Group E and head to Spain to face Sevilla on Matchday 5 later in November.
