UEFA general secretary David Taylor draws Liverpool out during the Champions League Group Stage draw at the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco.

Liverpool FC drawn to face Man City in Champions League quarter-finals

Liverpool will face a short trip after being drawn to face Manchester City in the last eight of the UEFA Champions League.

The Reds overcame Porto in the round of 16 thanks to a 5-0 aggregate scoreline, with all the goals netted in the first leg in Portugal.

That came on the back of a free-scoring group stage campaign, where Jurgen Klopp‘s men qualified top ahead of Sevilla, Spartak Moscow and Maribor.

Having progressed comfortably in their last 16 tie last week, the Reds faced a long wait to see which other teams managed to win through, with the likes of Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona ultimately joining Liverpool in the hat for the draw.

And with Andriy Shevchenko picking the teams out, Liverpool were paired with Man City in a fantastic-looking all-English encounter.

The first leg will be at Anfield on April 3rd or 4th and the second leg at the Etihad Stadium on April 10th or 11th.
