Mohamed Salah wins Premier League Player of the Year award

Mohamed Salah has added the Premier League EA Sports Player of the Year award to his incredible list of achievements with Liverpool in 2017/18.

Since signing last summer and scoring on his league debut, Salah has barely put a foot wrong.

He has impressed Reds fans and outsiders alike with his consistency, composure in front of goal and match-winning ability, culminating in a host of awards heading his way.

In Premier League terms, Salah had already become the first African player to score 30 or more in a campaign and the first player ever to win three Player of the Month awards in the same season.

Recently he won the PFA Players’ Player of the Year and the FWA Footballer of the Year, as well as a double win at Liverpool’s own awards night, winning the Players’ Player and Fans’ Player of the Year.

The Premier League award is decided after a combined voting system involving the public, a panel of experts and Premier League captains.

“I am very happy, I am very proud to win it,” Salah told the Premier League website.

“They say I didn’t have success here the first time, so it was always in my mind to have success here in the Premier League.”

Salah needs one more goal on the final day against Brighton to land another record and become the highest-ever scorer in a 38-game Premier League season.
