Liverpool FC dates for the diary – All you need to know for summer 2018

Here’s the key dates for Liverpool’s summer and into the new campaign.

Liverpool have announced nine pre-season friendlies – four in the north-west, three in America, one in Dublin and one at Anfield.

Those players not involved in the World Cup will return to Melwood on July 2, with an opening friendly at Chester just five days later.

That’s quickly followed by games against Tranmere, Bury and Blackburn, where fans will get the first opportunity to see new signings Naby Keita and Fabinho in action.

There’ll also be opportunities for youngsters like Harry Wilson to force himself into Jurgen Klopp‘s first team plans for the new season.

Players involved in the World Cup will then re-join their teammates in America, where high-profile friendlies against Borussia Dortmund, Man City and Man United take place.

A week before the new season starts, Liverpool will again play in Dublin – this time against Italian side Napoli – before hosting another Italian side, Torino, at Anfield on the Tuesday before the season opener against West Ham.

A change this year sees the domestic transfer window close on the Thursday before the season starts; although transfers to leagues such as Spain, France and Germany could still take place after that date.
