“Thoroughly deserved,” “Should rustle the anti-Hendo brigade!” – Fans react to Jordan Henderson’s new Liverpool contract

Jordan Henderson signed a new long-term deal with Liverpool on Monday and fans took to social media to give their thoughts.

With the skipper signing on with the Reds until 2023, he’s sure to continue playing a big part under Jurgen Klopp.

The No. 14 has been a regular under the boss, taking the Reds to three cup finals since replacing Steven Gerrard as Liverpool captain.

He does, though, remain a divisive figure for some, and the mixed reactions indicate as much.

 

Plenty of fans were delighted that the skipper had signed his new deal…

Made up Hendo has signed a new contract he will get back up to scratch soon , was good last season and in the World Cup he’s an important player and a much needed player, just slightly out of form at the moment. Love Hendo

Henderson our club captain who has played in the 6 role for 2 seasons under Klopp when we’ve done well. Yes, he has limitations but Klopp highly rates him & his contract is another example of it not to mention picking him so often. He’s one of many good CMs we have. Happy days

The length of the deal, which would see Henderson well into his 30s, was questioned…

My only beef with Michael Edwards is that he seems a bit too keen to give out expensive contract years over the age of 30.
