Lazio deny claims of pre-contract talks with Liverpool winger

Lazio have denied reaching an agreement with Liverpool winger Bobby Adekanye and say they are not in negotiations to sign the 19-year-old.

Nigeria-born Holland youth international Adekanye, who joined Liverpool from Barcelona in 2015, has been linked with Lazio in the last few days.

The Serie A club said in a statement on their official website on Monday: “In reference to the news released by some media, according to which SS Lazio have found an agreement with the player Bobby Adekanye, the club denies this and announces that it has not signed any contract, nor has it started negotiations for the aforementioned player.”

Adekanye has shone for Liverpool’s Under-19s and Under-23s but has not made a first-team appearance.
