Rafa, Sterling, Gerrard & more pay tribute on 30th anniversary of Hillsborough disaster

Liverpool’s rivalries were set aside on Monday as figures across football stopped to pay tribute to the 96, and those affected by the Hillsborough disaster.

Monday marks 30 years since the tragedy at Hillsborough in 1989, and Anfield served as the scene for a poignant minute’s silence the day before.

Jurgen Klopp‘s Reds and their opponents Chelsea stood around the centre circle as those in attendance all paid their respects to those who lost their lives that day in Sheffield.

April 15 will remain an emotional day for the club long into the future, and its impact is clear on those who have any connection with Liverpool.

Rafa Benitez and Raheem Sterling were among the ex-Reds to mark the anniversary on social media…
