The best photos as Liverpool begin pre-season with 6-0 thrashing of Tranmere

Liverpool kicked off their pre-season with a comprehensive 6-0 win at Tranmere Rovers on Thursday, as Jurgen Klopp‘s men returned to action in style.

After a well-earned break, the newly crowned European champions headed to Prenton Park, looking to get their summer off to a winning start.

Klopp named two separate starting lineups for the game, in order to give those present a decent run-out—and the fans a look at a few new faces.

New signing Sepp van den Berg watched from the sidelines, though, as the youngster still awaits FIFA clearance before making his debut.

Also in the stands was Harvey Elliot, the record-breaking Fulham youngster expected to complete a move to Liverpool soon.

Not many would have banked on Nathaniel Clyne being Liverpool’s first goalscorer of pre-season, but he hammered home a finish that had Trent Alexander-Arnold written all over it.

Rhian Brewster, one of the most talked about Reds youngsters in years, swiftly fired home a well-taken brace, sending his side in 3-0 up at the interval.

It was great to see Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain back in action, with a few bursts forward suggesting serious injury has not taken away his dynamism.
