Liverpool can further underline the progress they have made, particularly at Anfield, as they take on Leicester in the Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
Point to Prove
Leicester are the last team to prevent Liverpool from winning at Anfield in the league.
Since then the Reds have won 10 in succession at home, scoring 33 times and conceding six.
The Reds are unbeaten at home in 43 league games, winning 33 and drawing 10.
In that sequence they have been behind for a total of 103 minutes with Leicester in December 2017 leading for almost half of those, before losing 2-1.
Centurion Mane
Sadio Mane has scored 16 goals in his last 14 Anfield league starts and has scored twice in five of the Reds’ last eight home league games in which he has started.
He could make his 100th league appearance for the Reds and is one short of recording 50 for the club in the top flight.
He will become the 39th player in Liverpool history to score 50 league goals and the 10th in the Premier League.
50 Up for Salah?
Mohamed Salah has scored 49 times in his 56 Anfield appearances in league and cup and netted 39 in his last 42 at home.
A goal today will see him reach 50 on home soil in fewer games than any other Liverpool player apart from Roger Hunt whose 50th goal came in 1962 in his 55th game.
Score First and Win
Of the last 62 league games in which Liverpool have scored first they have won 53 and drawn nine.
The last time they scored first and lost in the top flight was to Crystal Palace (2-1) in April 2017—the last time they were beaten at Anfield in the league.
In all competitions that figure is 37 (34 wins, three draws) since losing to Chelsea in last season’s League Cup tie at Anfield.
Vardy the Dangerman
Jamie Vardy has scored seven of Leicester‘s last 11 goals against Liverpool with two coming in five Anfield appearances.
Those seven goals have come in just nine appearances, while he has found the net in five of his last six games against Jurgen Klopp‘s men.
The ex-England forward is one of seven players to have scored seven times against the Reds in the Premier League. Only two men have scored more: Andy Cole (11) and Thierry Henry (eight).
He has scored 31 Premier League goals against teams from the established top six since August 2014.
Vardy has scored 14 goals in 17 league appearances under Brendan Rodgers.
Rodgers Unbeaten vs. Liverpool
Rodgers will manage a team against Liverpool for the third time in his career today.
Liverpool have yet to score having drawn 0-0 at home to Swansea in the 2011-12 campaign before losing in south Wales.
Brendan’s Record at Leicester
He has overseen 17 league games as Leicester boss, winning nine, with four draws and four defeats.
Only Liverpool (49) and Man City (41) have won more points in that time than Leicester (31).
Today’s Referee
Today’s referee is Chris Kavanagh. He has sent off a Leicester player in two of the last seven Foxes games in which he has been in charge.
Both came in games against Brighton: Wilfred Ndidi in March 2018 and James Maddison last November.
