Reserves bad run continues

Liverpool Reserves slumped to their fourth straight defeat last night as their nightmare start to the new season continued.

City fielded a strong line-up which included the likes of Darius Vassell and Michael Ball.

Goals from Paul Marshall and Benjani won the three points for Manchester City Reserves at the Halliwell Jones Stadium, taking advantage of poor Liverpool defending.

Nabil El Zhar, who showed impressive form throughout the ninety mintutes, got the Reds’ only goal shortly before half time with a great turn of pace to fire low from a narrow angle.

Gary Ablett’s men now face Wigan Athletic Reserves at home on November 18th.
