Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso has rubbished rumours linking him with a summer move back to Spain to join Real Madrid.
Speaking at the launch of Liverpool’s new kits for the 2006/07 season, Alonso confirmed what manager Rafael Benitez said on Sunday ‘“ that he’s staying at Anfield.
The Spanish international said, “I want to stay at Liverpool, that is for sure. I know there have been stories in the Spanish press but I take no notice of them. I am only interested in playing for Liverpool and I’m concentrating only on preparing for the new season.”
