Next Up: Birmingham City (A)

After the gutting last minute shock of Tuesday night’s 1-1 draw at home to Chelsea, an expected makeshift, understrength Liverpool side will face Birmingham City in the Premier League this Saturday.

With the second leg of their Champions League semi-final against Avram Grant’s men in mind, and the race for fourth more or less tied up, Rafael Benitez is expected to name a much weakened side this weekend.

Charles Itandje could make his first Premier League start for the Reds, whilst Jermaine Pennant and Yossi Benayoun are expected to return to the starting line-up.

Strikers Peter Crouch and Andriy Voronin should expect to start, with Fernando Torres, Dirk Kuyt and Ryan Babbel once agains rested.

Kick-off is 3pm.
