Liverpool are set to face Valerenga as part of their pre-season preparations, according to the Norweigan side. The match will take place in Oslo on August 5th at the Ullevål Stadion.

Meanwhile, reports of a friendly with Chester City seem a little premature, with the Chester Chronicle newspaper having reported the match would take place on July 12th, but that date clashes with the Chester Races and therefore is unlikely to be given the go-ahead by the police.

Liverpool FC have only confirmed two friendlies thus far, Rangers and Villareal away. Other speculated friendlies include Swiss side Basle whilst on the training camp in Switzerland in early July and Crewe Alexandra away.

The Premier League fixtures for the 2008-09 season are released on Monday morning.
