AFC Liverpool prepare for kick-off

AFC Liverpool, the team formed by Liverpool fans under the club’s image to allow supporters an affordable alternative of going to regular football, are set to kick-off their Vodkat league campaign this weekend.

After their success in the Fans Trophy last weekend, AFC Liverpool start their season at home to Darwen FC.

Club chairman, Alun Parry, says, ‘œA lot of time and effort have gone into preparing for this day so we’re all very excited that it’s finally here. It’d be great if the local community could get behind us for what we’re hoping will be the first of many victories for the team.’

‘œThe Premiership doesn’t kick-off for another week, so we’re expecting a lot of Liverpool fans to turn up who are just desperate to watch some competitive football after the long summer break.’

The match will be played at Prescot Cables’ Valerie Park ground at 3pm on Saturday 9th August. Entrance is pay at the gate and is £5, £3 for concessions and £2 for under 18s.
