Reds fans warned over no-ticket law

Liverpool fans have been advised not to travel to Belgium next week without a valid match ticket for the Reds’ Champions League 3rd Round Qualifier against Standard Liege.

A club spokesman issued this statement this evening, via the club’s official website:

“There is a law in Belgium which makes it an arrestable offence to be in the vicinity of a football stadium without a valid match ticket.

“Several supporters fell foul of this legislation when we played Anderlecht in 2005 and were detained by Belgian authorities.

“Please be aware of this law and do not travel to Liege without a ticket.”

Tickets for the game next Wednesday are on sale now to all fans who have at least one European away game on their fancards from the 2007/08 campaign.
