Reds hope Gunners gatecrash title party

Liverpool fans will be watching today’s Premier League meeting between Manchester Utd and Arsenal closely, holding onto the faint glimmer of hope they have of winning the title this season.

League leaders Utd need only one point from the final two games to secure their 18th league Championship, but face Arsenal at Old Trafford this lunchtime.

If Arsenal were to win in the 12.45pm kick-off, and Liverpool win their game away to West Brom tomorrow, the title race would go down to the final day of the season ‘“ Sunday, 24th May. The Reds end their season at home to Tottenham, whilst United are away at struggling Hull City.

Even then however, it would require United to lose at the KC Stadium, and Liverpool to win for the Reds to pip their arch-rivals on goal difference.

Arsene Wenger’s men will be looking to get revenge on Alex Ferguson’s side, who recently dumped them out of the Champions League at the semi-final stage.

Here’s hoping Arsenal do us the biggest of favours and remember, it’s not over just yet.
