‘œXabi going nowhere’ confirms agent

Xabi Alonso’s agent Ignacio Ibanez has rubbished rumours linking the Liverpool midfielder with a summer move to Manchester City or Arsenal.

Alonso, who has recently been injured for the Reds but expects to return for Sunday’s trip to West Brom, has caught the eye of several top clubs and reports suggest bids of between £15m-£20m will be tabled for the 27-year-old Spanish international this summer.

But Ibanez told Sky Sports his client is fully committed at Anfield and has no intention to look elsewhere.

He said, “I know nothing about these reports. As Xabi has always said he is happy at Liverpool and focused on them.”
