Liverpool left-back Emiliano Insua says the squad must not be distracted amid constant transfer speculation linking midfielders Xabi Alonso and Javier Mascherano with summer exits from the club.
The Reds are currently training in Switzerland as part of their pre-season preparations and will play Austrian side Rapid Vienna in a friendly on Sunday.
When asked about the growing talk of bids from La Liga for his teammates, Insua was quick to point out that fellow Argentine Mascherano is back training with the squad now and Alonso is due to return on Sunday.
He told reporters, ‘œObviously they are two very good and two very important players for us, this is clear to everyone.
‘œThere has been a lot of talk but all we know for sure right now is that Javier has already come back to us and that Xabi is due back with us on Sunday.
‘œThe only thing we can do as players is concentrate on our own situation and keep working hard to make sure that we are fit and ready for the first game of the season.’
