FC Lyn 0-2 Liverpool

Liverpool got back to winning ways in Norway with Andriy Voronin and David Ngog helping the Reds to a comfortable 2-0 victory over FC Lyn on Wednesday evening.

Welcomed by an adoring Norweigan support in the Bislett Stadium, Rafa Benitez named a very experimental starting line-up.

New summer signing Glen Johnson started, along with Ryan Babel and Dirk Kuyt captained the team for the first time.

But it was Lyn who impressed first when striker Davy Angan forced an impressive save from distance from Diego Cavalieri early on.

Jay Spearing went close for Liverpool minutes later before Voronin gave the Reds the lead just before half time, heading home after dazzling work on the wing by an impressive Babel.

The second half saw Benitez reshape things and Javier Mascherano and company were brought into action as Liverpool controlled the pace of the game under a cool setting Scandenavian sun.

Ngog doubled the lead finishing off a bright move between Mascherano and Andrea Dossena. The young French striker expertly finishing past Tyrell Lacey.

It was only Liverpool’s second victory of pre-season and they now return to England for Saturday’s final pre-season friendly at home to Athletico Madrid.
