Liverpool vs Espanyol

Following the Reds’ mini-tour of the Far East they return to Europe for their fifth friendly of the summer, against Spanish side Espanyol.

Rafa Benitez’s side fly back to Merseyside where they will intensify their training ahead of the 2009-10 season before flying to Barcelona where they will play in the first game at Espanyol’s new 40,000 capacity Estadi Cornellà-El Prat stadium.

The match is likely to see the Reds’ Spanish quintuplet more heavily involved after short cameos only thus far.

Martin Skrtel and Nabil El Zhar remain sidelined with injuries they suffered against Thailand last week.
