Rafa pays tribute to Bobby Robson

Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has paid his own tribute to Sir Bobby Robson, who lost a long fight with cancer and died on Friday morning aged 76.

Robson was a likeable figure within football, best remembered for helping England to the World Cup Semi-Final in 1990.

He was honoured in a fundraising game (for Robson’s cancer charity) between England and Germany legends at St James’ Park last week.

Benitez said, “The death of Sir Bobby is a sad loss to football. His record in many different countries was testament to his talents as an outstanding manager and he clearly never lost his tremendous passion and enthusiasm for the game. He will be sorely missed by all of us.”

Furthermore, the club has announced a book of condolences will be set up in Liverpool’s official club shop in the Liverpool One shopping centre on Tuesday (August 4th) morning for any fans who wish to pass on their condolences.
