Amoo and Plessis on target as Kelly and El Zhar return

Bolton Wanderers Reserves 0-2 Liverpool Reserves
Lancashire Senior Cup, Semi-Final

Liverpool welcomed back Martin Kelly and Nabil El Zhar from long-term injuries tonight when both players played in the Liverpool Reserves’ 2-0 victory over Bolton in the Lancashire Senior Cup.

Kelly, who had been injured since just breaking into the first team back in October, started the game with El Zhar, who sustained a knee injury during the Reds’ pre-season preparations in Thailand, coming on for him at half time.

The Reds sailed through to the semi-finals of the competition thanks to goals either side of half-time.

Hot prospect Dani Pacheco danced around three Bolton defenders before sliding the ball to Amoo for the opener.

Amoo then turned provider late on to set up Plessis for a comfortable finish and double Liverpool’s lead.

John McMahon’s men have now gone eleven games unbeaten.
