The winter transfer window may have only closed yesterday but Liverpool are already being linked with future player arrivals.
The January window saw only Maxi Rodriguez arrive on a free transfer, and much of the noises coming out of Anfield, from senior hierarchy and manager Rafa Benitez were that they were already planning for the summer.
Sky Sports News report tonight that Liverpool are close to agreeing a pre-contract agreement for striker Milan Jovanovic.
The 28 year old Serbian is out of contract with Standard Liege this summer and has been linked with a Bosman free transfer to Merseyside in recent weeks. Sky Sports now claim the player is close to signing a three year deal with an option for a further year.
Jovanovic has scored 50 goals in 109 games for Liege and will be at the World Cup this summer. He has attracted interest from Italian side AC Milan but Rafa Benitez is keen to sign him to strengthen his forward options and provide much-needed back-up for Fernando Torres.
The Reds have also been linked with fellow forward and free transfer Marouane Chamakh of Bordeaux.
