Reds touchdown in Madrid – finally!

The curse of Liverpool’s season continued with UK airspace opening up within hours of the team had arriving in Paris last night.

The Reds squad, accompanied by a press pack, had left Runcorn Station at lunchtime before taking the Eurstar over to France and staying the night in Paris.

It was then an early morning for the players in time to get a train from the French capital to Bordeaux, where they finally got a plane to Madrid – touching down in the Spanish capital 23 hours after they set off.

How ironic that some members of the press and supporters were able to get flights out to Madrid this morning and arrived before the Liverpool squad!

The players will rest this afternoon before training at the Vicente Calderon this evening ahead of tomorrow’s match.
