Fernando Torres will travel back to Spain today for further analysis of the knee injury that he has suffered in recent weeks.
The Reds’ record signing and top goalscorer visited a consultant in Barcelona earlier in the week, with indications being that the Spaniard would be able to play against his former side Atletico next week.
But The Telegraph report today that Torres, who returned to Merseyside in time to attend the Hillsborough Memorial Service yesterday, will head back to Barcelona for further consultation.
Reports suggest there is yet to be a definitive prognosis on the injury.
Torres, understandably, is desperate to play against his former club, having missed the two matches against them in the Champions League group stages last season through injury.
