Line-up vs Wolves: Gerrard returns for Liverpool

Captain Steven Gerrard returns from injury for tonight’s match with bottom club Wolves at Anfield.

He replaces Maxi Rodriguez, with David Ngog remaining in the side alongside Fernando Torres.

Fans will be hoping the Reds can finish a dreary 2010 on a high note against struggling Wolves, with a win propelling Liverpool to the dizzy heights of 8th place in the league going into a busy January fixture schedule.

Agger returns to the squad for the first time since September, whilst Gerrard has been out of action since November.

Fernando Torres starts up front for the Reds, with attacking support from David Ngog and Dirk Kuyt, whilst Lucas and Raul Meireles marshall the midfield alongside Gerrard.

Liverpool: Reina, Johnson, Skrtel, Kyrgiakos, Konchesky, Kuyt, Meireles, Lucas, Gerrard, Ngog, Torres.
Subs: Jones, Agger, Aurelio, Cole, Maxi, Poulsen, Babel.

There will be a minute’s applause for Avi Cohen and Bill Jones, two former Liverpool players who sadly passed away this week.

Kick-off at Anfield is 8pm and the game is live on Sky Sports. Keep an eye on our Twitter @thisisanfield for updates throughout the evening and visit the Liverpool FC Forums for live streaming video links.
