Monday’s Liverpool FC Transfer Rumours

There were two great articles on This Is Anfield today about two players who could be returning to Liverpool next season.

Jack Wells discusses the prospect of Italian midfielder Alberto Aquilani coming back, whilst Mushtaq Quraishi looks at how Emiliano Insua would fit in should he return.

Elsewhere, the rumour mill has continued turning today, even though there’s four months until the transfer window reopens.

Liverpool are reportedly in a transfer race with Tottenham Hotspur for Roma striker Mirko Vucinic.

The Metro reports, “The Montenegran international has scored 11 goals in 21 caps as well as 56 goals in 132 league appearances for Roma since 2006.”

But 27-year-old Vucinic has two years remaining on his current contract with the Serie A side and Liverpool have only just acquired the services of strike duo Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll.

25-year-old Brazilian right-back Rafinha has also been linked with a summer move to Anfield today.

“I had an offer from Liverpool a year ago but Shalke asked for too much money, the value was set too high and negotiations came to an end,” Rafinha reportedly told The Independent.

He moved to Serie A side Genoa last summer after making 154 league appearances for Schalke in his five years there.

He has three years left on his current deal in Italy.

And the agent of Fiorentina forward Stevan Jovetic has confirmed Liverpool were interested in signing the Montengran last season, whilst Rafa Benitez was at Anfield.

The 21-year-old however is keen to stay in Florence, despite the Viola’s struggling season. They are currently 10th in Serie A.

And that’s your lot today – believe what you want. Head to our Liverpool FC Forums for more and discussion.
