Dalglish urges wisdom over cash in transfer window

Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish says the club will spend cautiously and wisely as they prepare for their biggest transfer window for man years.

New owners Fenway Sports Group look set to allow Dalglish and Director of Football Damien Comolli rebuild the squad, following the signings of Luis Suarez and Andy Carroll in January.

But Dalglish has warned fans not to expect extravagant transfer fees thrown a European football’s top stars, and that there is strategy to the smmer’s transfer plans.

He said, “Whether it is massively or cheaply, it doesn’t make any difference as long as you spend well.

“Budgets are all very well and good but it doesn’t guarantee you anything.

“But as long as your players are playing well you have a chance.

“Like every other club there will be movement in and out and I am sure there will be plenty of speculation – some we might even recognise the names of.

“We will be doing business but the better we do the business the more successful we will be.”
