Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers discusses his “emotional return” to Swansea after the two sides played out a 0-0 draw on Sunday.
Rodgers said he was disappointed that Jose Enrique’s goal was disallowed but that his team’s performance was pleasing. “I was pleased with our build-up and our creativity and the method of our game” he explained. “We were unfortunate with the offside goal.”
Rodgers was asked about the reliance upon Suarez for goals, “That’s something we knew we need to improve and do a little bit of work in the forthcoming months”.
Enrique’s disallowed goal is the second major offisde decision that has gone against Liverpool this season, with Suarez’s late winner at Everton also costing points. Had both been correctly given Liverpool would be four points better off and be above Spurs in seventh position.
Hopefully these decisions even themselves out over the season. The Reds are at Spurs on Wednesday night.
