Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina says he is flattered by the rumours linking him with a return to Spanish giants Barcelona this summer, but dismissed the speculation as just rumours.

Reina also spoke of how he is comfortable at Anfield, amid reports suggesting he could be set to end his eight year stay on Merseyside.

He told Spanish news agency Candena Ser, “I have three more years with Liverpool. I’m satisfied, comfortable and my family are very happy.

“Rumours are difficult to control but it’s flattering when a club like Barca are interested in you.

“I don’t know if there has been contact between the clubs or with my agent. At the moment I don’t think there’s anything serious.”

Reina played for Barcelona early in his career, playing for the Catalan side against the Reds in the 2001 UEFA Cup Semi-Final.

Reina signed for Liverpool from Villarreal in 2005, following the departure of Polish goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek.

He has since won the FA Cup and League Cup with the Reds, but speculation has mounted as to whether he will be tempted away from Liverpool by a Champions League club.
