Liverpool have announced the signing of Southampton and England right-back Nathaniel Clyne.
The 24-year-old arrives for a reported £12.5 million fee, which was accepted after Liverpool upped their original offer of £10 million.
Clyne becomes Liverpool’s sixth confirmed signing of the summer, following James Milner, Danny Ings, Adam Bogdan, Joe Gomez and Roberto Firmino.
The London born full-back replaces Glen Johnson at Anfield and is expected to take the No. 2 shirt at the club.
Clyne joined Southampton from Crystal Palace in 2012 and had one year remaining on his contract at St. Mary’s. He’s played 94 Premier League games, scoring three goals and assisting eight.
He made his debut for England in November 2014.
