Liverpool have been overwhelmed by the support on their travels this summer — appreciating Reds from Thailand, Australia and Malaysia so far.
Fans have been turning up in their tens of thousands for the Reds’ pre-season games, bringing with them a plethora of flags and banners to recreate Anfield at each stop on Liverpool’s travels.
Mamadou Sakho was among the first to appreciate the support from the Thai supporters when Liverpool beat True Thai All Stars in Bangkok.
He told LFCTour.com, “It was good to play in a very good stadium in front of some great supporters and it was very nice for us to be out here.”
A week later, speaking after the games against Brisbane Roar and Adelaide United, Brendan Rodgers left Australia paying tribute to the fans who came to watch Liverpool.
He said, “To have had over 100,000 supporters over the two games on the other side of the world tells you about the passion of the people here for the club.
“It’s been a great honour and I’d come back here as soon as we possibly could, for sure. We leave tomorrow with a heavy heart because when you play in front of those supporters, it means so much.
“It’s been very humbling how we’ve been received and hopefully we can come back.”
We’ve rounded up photos of the best flags and banners flown on Liverpool’s pre-season tour so far. Many thanks to Propaganda Photo for their fantastic photography.
So in no particular order…
