Sturridge out, Henderson and Sakho fit – Klopp gives injury update ahead of Man United clash

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has confirmed that Daniel Sturridge will miss Sunday’s visit of Man United, but Jordan Henderson and Mamadou Sakho are fit.

Speaking at his pre-match press conference ahead of the vital clash with Man United to Anfield, Klopp provided an update on the injuries within his squad.

The return of Henderson and Sakho against Arsenal on Wednesday helped ease the German’s current woes, and he has confirmed that both are fit again for the weekend.

Jordon Ibe also made a successful return following a hamstring problem, and has suffered no recurrence of the problem.

“[Jordan]Henderson is okay, [Jordon] Ibe is okay, [Mamadou] Sakho is okay,” he said.

Daniel Sturridge remains on the sidelines, however, with Klopp giving no indication of when he may return.

When asked if he would face face Louis van Gaal’s side, Klopp responded with a resounding, “no”, and he said exactly the same when quizzed about the 26-year-old’s potential return.

Dejan Lovren is another for whom Sunday’s game has come too soon for, with Klopp confirming the Croatian is still not ready to return.

Martin Skrtel also remains on the treatment table, along with Philippe Coutinho and long-term casualties such as Danny Ings and Joe Gomez.

Full video from Klopp’s press conference will be on This Is Anfield shortly.
