Connor Randall completes loan move to Scottish side Hearts

Reserve right-back Connor Randall will spend 2017/18 on loan in Scotland with Hearts, with the 21-year-old agreeing a season-long switch.

Having made eight appearances for the Reds’ senior side so far since making his debut in October 2015, Randall will be hoping the move north of the border can help him take another step in his career.

With Nathaniel Clyne and Trent Alexander-Arnold ahead of him in the running order at right-back, and Jon Flanagan having returned to the squad this summer to cover on both sides of defence, chances would have been limited at Anfield this term.

Hearts finished fifth in the SPL last season, some 60 points off eventual title winners Celtic.

Randall follows several other former and current Reds in trying their hand on loan in Scotland, with Danny Ward, Adam Hammill, Danny Wilson and Michael Ngoo all having loan spells north of the border—the latter two at Hearts, coincidentally.
