Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson doubts for Liverpool’s trip to Burnley

Liverpool could be without both Sadio Mane and Andy Robertson for Wednesday’s visit to Burnley in the Premier League.

Mane suffered a cut to his foot during the Merseyside derby on Sunday, with Jurgen Klopp explaining post-match that the forward picked up the injury 20 minutes before full-time and that it was a painful injury.

It meant that Mane missed Reds’ training on Monday, while Robertson is struggling with a dead leg.

Mane’s possible absence would provide Klopp the opportunity to either bring in Daniel Sturridge, or revert to 4-3-3 with Xherdan Shaqiri on the left.

If Robertson isnt risked, Alberto Moreno is the natural choice on the left side of defence.

Klopp will have captain Jordan Henderson back after he served a one-match ban against Everton, while Dejan Lovren is in contention despite not being among the subs on Sunday.

With Bournemouth away to follow on Saturday morning, rotation should be expected across these next two fixtures – especially with the crucial home match against Napoli next midweek also.

Naby Keita is a strong contender to start at Turf Moor and it’s hoped that the midfielder can now start to find form and push for a regular place in the Reds’ XI after a slow start at Anfield.

Meanwhile, Mane has been voted at number 22 in the Ballon D’or 2018. Alisson is at number 25, while Mohamed Salah is expected to be named sixth and Roberto Firmino 19th.
