Liverpool have scored some brilliant goals on the road to Madrid and you can relive each and of them in this video released in the lead up to Saturday’s final.
The Reds are gearing up for their second successive Champions League final after a campaign which saw the likes of Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich and Barcelona all receive the Liverpool treatment.
The journey throughout the group stages and in the knockout rounds was as entertaining as it was dramatic, but Liverpool’s safe passage to Madrid was largely thanks to 22 goals hitting the back of the net.
Daniel Sturridge got the Reds off the mark with a headed effort against PSG way back in September before Divock Origi‘s sneaky strike against Barcelona secured a place in the showpiece final eight months later.
The time between the Autumn night at Anfield which kicked off the Reds’ hopes of redemption and the historic night against the Catalan outfit saw a total of nine players etch their name on the scoresheet.
Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane each chipped in with four goals, where at one time or another they were each key in making Liverpool’s presence in the final a possibility.
From Firmino’s last gasp winner over PSG to Salah’s crucial goal against Napoli and Mane’s decisive away goals at Porto and Bayern, the trio have again proved decisive.
But in line with the theme of the season Jurgen Klopp‘s men have shared the responsibility around as in the absence of the attacking trio on the scoreboard Origi and Gini Wijnaldum stepped up to serve up a night no Liverpool fan will ever forget.
The night at Anfield against Barcelona saw the Reds rack up a total of four goals for the third time in Europe this season, following on from convincing victories over Porto and Red Star Belgrade.
And so it’s safe to say it’s been a Champions League campaign to remember so far with a collection of brilliant goals to match, so sit back and relive it all.
