Liverpool midfielder Xabi Alonso says the team will have confidence going into this Sunday’s Premier League clash away to Arsenal after their victory at Stamford Bridge earlier this season.
Alonso scored the only goal of the game to end Chelsea‘s four year unbeaten home record and take the Reds’ second ‘˜top four’ scalp of the season.
Now the Spanish midfielder believes he and his teammates have the determination to go to the Emirates Stadium on Sunday and complete a hat-trick of victories over the other ‘˜top four’ clubs.
He told Liverpool’s official web site, “Hopefully it will give us more confidence going to places like the Emirates.
“The win at Stamford Bridge came after a good performance – we fully deserved it. We will have to repeat this kind of performance if we want to win at the Emirates. Hopefully we’re ready for this.
“The Emirates is a tough stadium to play at. They play good football at home but we have enough quality to stop them and be good in attack as well.”
Arsenal vs Liverpool is on Sunday, 21st December and kicks off at 4pm. The match is live on Sky Sports.
