Summer departures for Agger and Babel?

Daniel Agger and Ryan Babel are two players who continue to be linked with moves away from Anfield. Both are players who have struggled to build on excellent starts to their Liverpool careers and both have undoubted quality.

Of the two, Agger will be the one most fans would not want to lose. A future partnership alongside Martin Skrtel looks promising to say the least.

AggerThe Times report today quotes from Agger which they say show the Danish defender doesn’t trust Rafa Benitez. Reporting:

“Benitez has continually trumpeted his desire to keep him, but Agger said: ‘˜The most important thing is the things he tells me when I look him in the eyes ‘” his eyes, not what it says in the papers, it is what he says behind closed doors.'”

BabelWhile Oliver Kay in The Times writes on Babel’s situation:

Ryan Babel is expected to lead a summer exodus from Liverpool after voicing frustration at his peripheral role in Rafael Benítez’s squad this season.

Babel has made just 6 league starts this season and the arrival of Alert Riera and form of Yossi Benayoun has limited his oportunities. He said:

‘œWith this supporting role, I am not happy. I have had three good talks with the trainer this season in which he indicated that I could not lose sight of the defensive aspect. It is my feeling that I have strongly improved, but still I get no real chance.’
