Liverpool travel back from Madrid for a Premier League clash against relegation candidates Burnley this Sunday afternoon.

With the Reds now down in 7th in the league table, nothing short of a victory is required.

The last time Liverpool went to Burnley however, they were subjected to a 1-0 defeat in an FA Cup tie back in 2005. Reds defender Djimi Traore scored an awful own goal that day to gift the game to the hosts.

Yossi Benayoun bagged a hat-trick and Dirk Kuyt scored the other in the reverse of this fixture earlier this season, with Liverpool running out 4-0 winners at Anfield after a shakey start to the season.

Maxi Rodriguez is eligable to play again after being cup-tied of Thursday’s Europea League meeting with Atletico Madrid, although Rafa Benitez is without Fernando Torres, Martin Skrtel, Emiliano Insua and Fabio Aurelio.

Burnley come into this game off the back of a 2-1 defeat to Sunderland, although they did beat fellow relegation candidates Hull City 4-1 in their previous game.

However, Rafa Benitez will be cautious (there’s a surprise) in that Liverpool have the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie with Atletico Madrid on Thursday night at Anfield.

Kick-off at Turf Moor is 3pm.
