Maxi proud of “best moment”

Maxi Rodriguez says his hat-trick against Birmingham City at Anfield on Saturday was his best moment since signing for the club, and appreciated the special ovation he was given by the fans.

Maxi was the hat-trick hero as Liverpool swept aside Birmingham City in a 5-0 victory to continue the pressure on fifth place Tottenham.

He was given a standing ovation by the whole ground when he was taken off in the closing moments of the game after netting his first goals of 2011.

“It’s definitely my best moment in a Liverpool shirt,” Maxi told the club’s official website.

“I think it’s more special because we scored a lot of goals, it was my first hat-trick for the club and also because I scored it at Anfield in front of our fans.

“I have to say that it was also a great moment when I was substituted in the last minute. The whole ground gave me a reception I will never forget and Kenny also said he was very happy with my performance, so I have to be delighted with what was a perfect day for me.”
