Craig Bellamy linked with surprise return to LFC

Craig Bellamy has been linked with a surprise return to Liverpool FC in a report in Tuesday’s Telegraph and Guardian newspapers.

The Welsh forward, who recently turned 32, spent a year at Anfield from 2006 to 2007 under Rafa Benitez.

Bellamy spent last season on loan to Cardiff City after his current club, Manchester City, refused to loan him to a Premier League side.

City have reportedly put a £4m price tag on the former Norwich, Coventry, Newcastle, Celtic, Blackburn and West Ham forward.

The Times’ football editor, Tony Evans, described the possibility of the move as “an outside chance”.

With David Ngog expected to complete a move to Bolton before the transfer window closes, and Daniel Pacheco heading to Rayo Vallecano on loan, Liverpool would be left with only Andy Carroll, Dirk Kuyt and Luis Suarez as recognised first-team strikers.
