Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi has today completed a season loan move to Stoke City, having passed a medical on Tuesday morning.
Update: Liverpool FC have now confirmed the move.
Local Staffordshire newspaper ‘The Sentinel‘ claim the deal has already been completed:
Stoke City have this afternoon completed the signing of Liverpool winger Oussama Assaidi on a season-long loan.
The 25 year old Moroccan winger, who joined the club last summer for £2.4m from Heerenveen, was previously linked with a return to Holland this summer, and with Championship side QPR.
Assaidi’s departure is likely to be followed by the loan signing of Chelsea winger Victor Moses. See our report on how Moses’ signing can be a shrewd move for LFC.
Sky Sports report that the player is currently undergoing his medical ahead of the move.
Assaidi made his Liverpool debut against Young Boys SC in the Europa League last September, but failed to break into the manager’s first-team plans, making just 12 appearances – of which only six were starts.
He becomes the ninth player to be loaned out this summer.
