After Liverpool looked likely to secure a second win on the bounce at home to Bournemouth, supporters were left stunned by a late equalising goal.
Liverpool 2-2 Bournemouth
Premier League, Anfield
April 5, 2017
Goals: Coutinho 40′, Origi 59′; Afobe 7′, King 87′
It took 87 minutes for the Cherries to find their second goal of the night, but it proved hugely damaging to the Reds’ hopes as Josh King fired home late on.
King’s strike partner, Benik Afobe, had got Bournemouth off to a great start at Anfield, before goals from Philippe Coutinho and Divock Origi looked to have set Liverpool on their way.
However, as Jurgen Klopp looks to move on without the injured Sadio Mane, his side once again showed a frustrating inconsistency.
Here’s how supporters reacted to Liverpool’s 2-2 draw at home to Bournemouth.
A sloppy Wijnaldum handed Afobe the opener…
Gini Wijnaldum will want to take that minute back. The only good thing is he's got a lot of time to make up for it. 0-1 #LFC
— Andy Kelly (@AndyK_LivNews) April 5, 2017
I love you Gini, but you have had an absolute nightmare there. All stemmed from Mignolet pissing about and killing LFC's momentum.
— Henry Jackson (@HenryJackson87) April 5, 2017
Nice assist.
— Sai (@TheEngancheRole) April 5, 2017
Belter of a through ball by Gini!
— Colin Spreag (@ColinSpreag) April 5, 2017
After a shaky half-hour, Coutinho levelled the scores…
Great finish from Phil, off-balance
— Colin Spreag (@ColinSpreag) April 5, 2017
And that assist from Firmino was both deliberate and wonderful

Fantastic goal. Brilliant finish. Let's push on now. Big moment.

This saw the Reds face a mixed reception at half-time…
Largely dismal half. Could easily have been 2-0 down, but equaliser before the break is boss. Rocket up the arse from the manager needed.
— Paul (Maych) Machin (@ThePaulMachin) April 5, 2017
Terrible half, but still in it. I'm not convinced this formation works without Mane.

Can someone photoshop Real Madrid players in a Bournemouth kit and put it up in the dressing room at HT
— SimonBrundish (@SimonBrundish) April 5, 2017
Origi made it 2-1, but creator Wijnaldum was the focus…
Get in there Divock!

Ginaldinho

Love it Wijnaldum, couldn't have done any better then that #LFC

But King struck late and supporters were left deflated…
This club, this f*cking club.
— Tom McMahon (@tomjpmac) April 5, 2017
Liverpool are a weird, weird side. So switched on defensively against the top sides, but gift the sloppiest of goals to the average teams.
— Henry Jackson (@HenryJackson87) April 5, 2017
Very very disappointing result, got to have the strength of mind to see these games out!especially after coming from behind.
— John Aldridge (@Realaldo474) April 5, 2017
Big missed opportunity for #LFC to open a gap in CL run in. Same old problems resurfacing.
— Paul Grech (@paul_grech) April 5, 2017
To have 3 windows & have a back 6 of Mignolet, Milner, Lovren, Klavan, Clyne & Lucas starting any game is awful planning/judgement tbh.
— Red (@TaintlessRed) April 5, 2017
Never known a big club to be as consistently poor as Liverpool's has been for so long. 2 goals at home to Bournemouth and can't win.
— Joseph Cousins (@JCuzzy1) April 5, 2017
10 times we've conceded 2 or more goals. It is unacceptable.
— Joseph Cousins (@JCuzzy1) April 5, 2017
27 goals conceded in 16 games by #LFC against the bottom half of the EPL
That's 64 over 38 games— DanKennett.bsky.social (@DanKennett) April 5, 2017
We're an absolute joke defensively. So many sloppy errors must have klopp fuming. Can't legislate for these stupid mistakes.
— Floyd (@TheFNundy) April 5, 2017
It'll be our mentality which costs us top four this season. We've failed to win matches at home against Swansea, Bournemouth and West Ham.
— Sam McGuire (@SamMcGuire90) April 5, 2017
Tactical shift at 2-1 meant we offered very little attacking threat after. 2 massive points dropped
— keith costigan (@KeithCostigan) April 5, 2017
Parked the bus at home to Bournemouth. What a strange lot you are, LFC.
— ML (@FootyML) April 5, 2017
Just buy better defenders and that shit doesn't happen. Don't spend all night over analysing it. We have maybe 1 half decent defender.
— L4 (@L4Kop10) April 5, 2017
Very poor from Klopp tonight. Why set up to defend against a poor side with 30 minutes remaining? Especially when we can't defend.
— Sai (@TheEngancheRole) April 5, 2017
4th co com on @LFC Not seen a win yet! And doing the Palace game in a few weeks!!
