Gerrard On Learning From Klopp

In a great interview with the Guardian, Steven Gerrard has talked about the influence of Jurgen Klopp and his admiration for him as a person.

“I was like a sponge, watching and learning.

“I watch him on TV and see how he handles situations. I could never be Jurgen with his charisma and energy. But if I can take a few things from him it will be such a help.

“And if I text, call or see him, Jurgen’s always got time for me.”

Many believe Gerrard could end up being Klopp’s successor years down the line, with the 38-year-old already impressing as Rangers manager.

Make Us Dream, a new film documenting his life and career, is released in cinemas and on Amazon Prime on Thursday.

Matip Linked With Fulham Move

Reports in Turkish publication A Spor state that Joel Matip could be off to Fulham in January.

Fenerbahce are also interested in signing him as they look to restructure after a dreadful start to the season.

The Cameroonian has falling down the centre-back pecking order at Liverpool, with Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren all ahead of him.

Whether Klopp would let Matip leave midway through the season is unlikely, however, with the 27-year-old still providing squad depth.

It may be that a summer move materialises instead.

Trent Hails Milner’s “Highest Standards”

James Milner is known as one of the most dedicated professionals in the modern game, with his fitness still second to none, despite approaching his 33rd birthday.

His attitude has caught the eye of Trent Alexander-Arnold, who told Liverpoolfc.com that nobody rivals him in the professionalism stakes:

“Off the pitch he holds the highest standards that I’ve probably ever seen in someone.

“He demands a lot from himself and seeing that on a daily basis is incredible.

“He’ll never give up in training, he’ll never stop running, and it gives you that motivation to do the same.”

Milner will still be winning the bleep test when he’s 80!

Ramsey Off To Bayern?

Aaron Ramsey has been linked with a switch to Liverpool next summer, with Arsenal confirming they will not be offering him a new contract.

It appears as though Bayern Munich are set to sign him, however, with the Independent saying the German giants “believe that they have won the race to sign the Wales international.”

There is believed to have been a “breakthrough in talks,” with Ramsey in line to sign a deal at the Allianz Arena ahead of next season.

The 27-year-old is a divisive figure who would no doubt have had admirers and detractors in equal measure if he had moved to Liverpool.

We’ve got enough of those at the club already, quite frankly!

Ludicrous Fabinho Transfer Story

According to Corriere dello Sport, AC Milan are looking to sign Fabinho on loan, which has no chance of happening.

They see the Liverpool man as somebody who can bolster their midfield options, especially with a shortage in that area of the pitch currently.

Fabinho has only just moved to Anfield, however, and is both improving all the time and likely to be a key man for years to come.

You won’t hear many worse transfer rumours this week.
