Confirmed Liverpool lineup vs. Sporting: Van den Berg in the squad

Teenager Sepp van den Berg should finally make his first appearance for Liverpool as the Reds take on Sporting CP in New York City.

Jurgen Klopp‘s side are in action in their final game of their three-game US tour, playing at the iconic Yankee Stadium.

And it will provide fans with their first glimpse of Dutch centre-back Van den Berg, who has been unable to feature in the opening four friendlies of the summer due to waiting on international clearance.

Van den Berg is among the subs for the Reds.

It looks like Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain will play in a more attacking role, with Liverpool’s forward options extremely slim.

Bobby Duncan and Harry Wilson, who have both been suffering with knocks in recent days, are among the subs. Adam Lallana also returns to the squad.

Joel Matip lines up alongside Virgil van Dijk with Trent Alexander-Arnold and Andy Robertson at full-back, making for a first-choice defence.

Fabinho is joined by Jordan Henderson and James Milner in midfield, with Gini Wijnaldum also supporting Divock Origi up front.

Liverpool: Mignolet, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Milner, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Origi.

Subs: Lonergan, Atherton, Lovren, Gomez, Lallana, Brewster, Kent, Lewis, Phillips, Jones, Hoever, Duncan, Woodburn, Wilson, Van den Berg.
