Sebastian Coates could be loaned out next season

Liverpool are exploring the possibility of loaning out Uruguayan defender Sebastian Coates next season.

Coates, 21, was signed from Nacional last August for £7m after winning Best Young Player at the Copa America.

The 6ft 6inch centre back has started just 8 times in his debut season and has been overlooked in favour of veteran defender Jamie Carragher when injuries to Daniel Agger and Martin Skrtel have occurred in recent weeks. Many supporters have found the use of Carragher perplexing, with the benefit of using Coates seemingly much greater.

Liverpool are now exploring the options to loan out the young defender next season, if the right club can be found.

I don’t believe this. The four competing for two centre back positions next year will be Skrtel, Agger, Kelly and Coates. We haven’t got enough options to loan out Coates. Kelly should be played at centre back where he is more comfortable. Flanagan will be cover for Johnson and Robinson for Enrique. Let’s push the policy of blooding new youngsters, either developed from within (Kelly, Robinson, Flanagan) or bought (Coates, Shelvey, Sterling) to back up new signings (Rhodes, Hoilett, Zaha / Moses, Diame).

This is pure rubbish…….shocking tripe. We don’t even know who the manager could be next season.
