Luis and Xabi top group

Spain rested their entire first team and still managed to keep up their 100% record in the World Cup campaign as they overcame Saudi Arabia 1-0 in Kaiserslauten on Friday afternoon.

Spain topped group H also qualifying with Ukraine who beat Tunisia 1-0 in their final group game.

The result means that Spain will face the runner-up of group G in the second knock-out round of the tournament on Tuesday 27th June.

Liverpool’s Xabi Alonso and Luis Garcia are both expected to return to the first team for the crunch match. Unfortunately goalkeeper Jose Reina didn’t get an international run-out against Saudi Arabia. Instead, Santiago Canizares stepped in for Iker Casillas.
