Unlucky Cisse suffers broken leg

Liverpool striker Djibril Cisse has a suspected broken right leg after been stretchered off for France in their friendly with China this evening.

The unlucky Cisse landed awkwardly after just eight minutes of the game and appeared to twist his right leg. Early reports suggest his leg may be broken and he will definitely be out of the World Cup.

French Coach Raymond Domenech told French TV he is concerned Cisse would miss the finals.

‘We can’t say for certain right now, only that he has gone for tests.

‘But given what we’ve seen, we’re worried.

For the moment we have no definitive diagnosis but it’s a dramatic development for us,’ said Domenech, adding he would mull ‘all possibilities’ regarding a possible addition to the squad.

‘We’ll check on ‘Djib’ to see where we are before taking a decision,’ he said.

The Liverpool player, who came back from a huge break to his left leg a year ago, has been linked with a move back to france over the past few days with either Marseille or Lyon.
