Rafa is confident Craig Bellamy will put his baggage behind him and be a big hit at Anfield.
Bellamy is expected to make his Liverpool debut at Wrexham on Saturday and despite his past problems Rafa believes he is more mature player now and has the passion to play for The Reds.
‘For me Bellamy is almost perfect,’ said Benitez.
‘He has pace, he can play, he can beat players, he can score goals and he can assist, all the things we were looking for.
‘We know his qualities and also the problems he had in the past. For me the key was his passion and also when I was talking with him he was saying he was also a Liverpool fan.
‘You could see on the day I was talking with him and today, in every training session, his passion and commitment.
‘I think we have made a very good signing. He’s a different player now, he’s more mature, he wants to play for us and he’s really, really happy.
‘He knows it’s an opportunity for him to play in a top side.’
