Next Up: Bolton (a)

Liverpool travel to the Reebok Stadium to face Lancashire rivals Bolton in the lunchtime kick off on Saturday.

The Reds go into the game on the back of three home wins in 10 days; 2-0 against Newcastle, 3-0 against Tottenham, and Wednesday’s 3-2 win over Galatasaray in the Champions League.

In opposition will be former Liverpool strikers El Hadji Diouf and Nicolas Anelka. Gerard Houllier choose to sign Diouf and allow Anelka to leave back in 2002, and many Reds fans believe that was the Frenchman’s turning point.

Diouf had a disastrous spell after an 11m arrival from Lens, while Anelka went to Man City and then back to England to Bolton via Fenerbache – in an 8m move.

Rafa Benitez is expected to make a couple of changes, as ever, to his side, including bringing John Arne Riise back in and giving Craig Bellamy a run alongside Peter Crouch, therefore resting new Anfield favourite Dirk Kuyt.

The match is live on Sky Sports 1. Kick off 12:45.
